Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about how Baseline+
works, who it’s for, and what to expect.
How Baseline+ Works
I've tried to get answers through my GP and just got told everything looks normal. How is this different?
Standard GP appointments are often short, and standard blood panels don’t always test the markers most relevant to how you’re actually feeling. Baseline+ starts with a structured intake where you tell us what’s going on in detail before you speak to anyone. Your practitioner reviews your full picture before your consultation. Pathology is included and goes beyond a basic panel. We can’t promise a specific outcome. What we can tell you is the assessment is thorough and your practitioner takes the time to understand your individual situation.
Is this one of those services where I answer a quiz and get sent a prescription?
No. Baseline+ does not prescribe medication based on a quiz or without clinical assessment. Every program includes a telehealth consultation with an AHPRA-registered practitioner who reviews your intake, asks follow-up questions, and makes clinical decisions based on your individual presentation. Medication is only prescribed where clinically indicated, after your results have been reviewed.
I'm not sure if I even qualify. How do I know if Baseline+ is right for me?
Start with our eligibility assessment. It takes about 3 minutes and confirms whether Baseline+ is appropriate for your situation. If it is, you’ll be guided through next steps. If it isn’t, we’ll let you know before you commit to anything. No payment required to check eligibility.
Do I need to see my GP first?
I live regionally. Is this available where I am?
Blood Tests and
Diagnostics
Do I have to get blood tests? I'm not great with needles.
Blood tests are a standard part of the Baseline+ program and are included in your program cost. If you have concerns, mention it in your intake form or raise it with your practitioner. They can walk you through what’s involved before you go in.
I had blood tests done recently. Can I use those instead?
Where do I go to get my blood tests done?
Once your pathology order is authorised, you’ll receive clear instructions on how to find your nearest accredited collection centre. We coordinate with accredited Australian providers so you don’t need to organise this yourself.
How long until I get my results back?
Most results are available within a few business days. Your results come back to Baseline+ directly and your practitioner reviews them with you at your consultation.
Is pathology included in the program cost?
Consultations and
Care
What actually happens in the consultation? I don't want to repeat everything I've already written.
Your practitioner reviews your intake form and pathology before your session, so you won’t be starting from scratch. The consultation is focused on what matters most for your situation. It’s a clinical conversation with someone who already knows your picture.
Who am I actually talking to? Are they a doctor?
You’ll be consulting with an AHPRA-registered practitioner. They are qualified health professionals registered to conduct clinical assessments, order pathology, and where clinically appropriate, prescribe medication. They are registered clinicians with independent prescribing authority.
What if something comes up that's outside the scope of Baseline+?
How long are consultations?
Can I get support from a dietitian or psychologist through Baseline+?
Yes, in some cases. Depending on your clinical plan, add-on support from a dietitian or psychologist may be appropriate. Your practitioner will discuss whether these are relevant to your situation. Add-on services are at a separate cost.
Programs and Health
Areas
I feel like something is off but I don't know what. Is that vague enough to still qualify?
Yes, and that’s exactly who this is designed for. A lot of people come to Baseline+ without a diagnosis or a clear label for what they’re experiencing. The program starts with a structured assessment, not an assumption. Your practitioner is trained to work with incomplete pictures and help you figure out where to look.
I've been told my results are normal but I still don't feel right. Can you help?
We understand that frustration. Baseline+ starts with a more detailed assessment than a standard panel. Whether we find something clinical depends on your individual results and what’s tested. We can’t promise a different answer, but we can promise the process is more thorough.
I'm a woman in my 40s and I'm pretty sure something hormonal is going on. Does Baseline+ cover that?
Yes. Baseline+ provides structured clinical assessment for women’s hormonal and metabolic health, including perimenopause and menopause. Your assessment includes relevant hormonal markers and a consultation with a practitioner who takes the time to understand your full picture.
I'm a man and my energy, motivation, and body composition have changed in the last few years. Is that something you look at?
Yes. These are common concerns that can have a number of clinical causes including hormonal changes, metabolic factors, and thyroid function. Baseline+ provides structured assessment for men’s health looking at the markers relevant to your situation.
Can I work on more than one health area at once?
Because Baseline+ is assessment-first, multiple health concerns can be considered together. Raise this in your intake form and with your practitioner during your consultation. They’ll advise on the best approach for your situation.
Pricing and Payments
What do I get for my program cost? Walk me through it.
Are there hidden costs I should know about?
No. Your program cost covers everything including pathology. The only additional costs are medication if clinically appropriate, and add-on services if relevant. Both are discussed at your consultation before anything is prescribed or arranged. Nothing is charged without your knowledge.
Is medication included?
No. Medication is only prescribed where clinically appropriate and costs are separate. Whether medication is part of your clinical plan is decided by your practitioner based on your results, discussed with you before anything is prescribed.
Is this covered by Medicare or my private health fund?
Telehealth consultations through Baseline+ are not currently bulk-billed. We recommend checking with your private health fund directly regarding coverage. Your program fee is payable upfront.
What's your refund policy?
Please refer to our full Refund and Returns Policy for details. If you have questions before purchasing, get in touch via our contact form and we’ll walk you through it.
Safety and Compliance
How do I know the practitioners are actually qualified?
All consultations at Baseline+ are conducted by AHPRA-registered practitioners. You can independently verify any practitioner’s registration through the public register at ahpra.gov.au. We’d encourage you to.
I'm nervous about sharing my health information with a platform I haven't heard of before. How is it protected?
Your personal and health information is stored securely and managed in accordance with Australian privacy legislation. It is only accessible to the practitioners and support staff directly involved in your care. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Will I be pushed toward medication I don't actually need?
No. Medication is only discussed and prescribed where it is clinically appropriate based on your individual results. The decision is made entirely by your practitioner. If medication is not clinically indicated, it won’t be part of your plan.
Is this website giving me medical advice?
No. Information on this website is general in nature and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For medical emergencies, call 000.
What if this isn't the right level of care for what I'm dealing with?
Baseline+ is not a crisis service and is not designed for acute or emergency care. If you are in a medical emergency, call 000. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636. If your situation requires a higher level of care, your practitioner will advise you on appropriate next steps.
